With Mother Nature's full cooperation, Rebuilding Day 2010 unfolded on Saturday, April 24, 2010. We had about 300 volunteers from 14 different teams working on a total of 8 projects that included some interior and exterior components. Because of fantastic weather, we were able to complete all work that was expected to be done.

Rebuilding Day 2009 took place on Saturday, April 25, 2009. About 300 volunteers split among 14 teams worked on 10 different projects throughout lower Fairfield County. The weather could not have been better as we enjoyed warmer than normal tempratures along with clear blue skies and lots of sunshine to create perfect working conditions for both interior and exteriors projects alike.

Rebuilding Together Fairfield County is a nonprofit, nonsectarian, volunteer organization that works in partnership with local sponsors and volunteer groups to preserve and revitalize houses and communities in Fairfield County, assuring that low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly, with disabilities or who are families with children, live in warmth, safety and independence. Our goal is to make a sustainable impact on their houses as well as on their lives, in partnership with the communities we serve, and to do so without cost to those we are able to help.

We are seeking projects and volunteer teams to be worked on throughout the remainder of 2010 and early 2011. If you have a group of volunteers interested in working with Rebuilding Together Fairfield County, please contact our office at (203) 921-1792. Projects undertaken may include yard cleanup, interior and/or exterior painting, masonry, carpentry and electrical repairs.

Homeowner applications are now being accepted for our 2010-2011 rehabilitation efforts.

New volunteer groups and teams are always welcome. If you are interested in forming at team, please contact our office at (203) 921-1792.

An energetic group of about 40 Navy Seal candidates along with 20+ volunteers from First Congregational Church of Stamford volunteered to fell several trees, replace windows, renovate the first floor of our Vet's home along with a major interior and exterior cleanup.
